CNC Machinist

Overview of Responsibilities:
The CNC Machinist will be required to set-up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The CNC Machinist must be familiar with a variety of CNC concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Job Elements:

• Perform complex machining operations on a CNC milling machine can read and understand G-code
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
• Follow instructions both verbal and written
• Produce quality parts in a timely manner
• Follow KJLC shop safety standards
• Work with Machinists, Project Managers and Engineers to solve problems and improve processes
• Proper use of cranes for overhead lifting
• Ensure timely compliance with Company workplace policies and procedures, including human resource policies and safety
• Post and edit CNC program to fine tune process for optimal performance
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required

• High school diploma or GED required
• 8 years related machine shop experience or completed Journeyman machining program and 2 years of related CNC mill experience as Journeyman
• Proficient knowledge of trigonometry and geometry machinist mathematical skills
• Proficient knowledge of CNC machining technique.
• Proficient at reading and understand measuring devices
• Proficient at reading and understand blueprints and shop drawings including geometric tolerances.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 60 lbs. unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 60 lbs.

Preferred

• Programming ability and/or experience
• Associates degree in related field.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
