Self Help Movement is a drug and alcohol treatment facility located in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia.

We currently have a Full Time, Permanent opening available for a Building Maintenance Assistant!

Job Summary:

The General Maintenance Assistant will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Perform routine daily maintenance for properties, including but not limited to plumbing, minor electrical and minor HVAC repairs.

* Perform general repairs, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, and ground maintenance.

* Adjust, fix or replace all hardware on doors, cabinets, furniture, bathroom partitions, windows, etc.

* Replace stained or damaged ceilings, flooring, wall protection, ceramic tiles, etc.

* Change light bulbs, fixtures, ballasts, switches, receptacles, and reset circuit breakers.

* Remove or relocate snow, de-iced grounds.

* Document all facility deficiencies through daily travels.

* Ability to follow instructions from Maintenance Manager.

* Knowledge of general carpentry, electrical and plumbing.

* Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education Requirements:

* Minimum High School Diploma/Equivalent

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods standing and walking.

* Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
