Job Description

Job Title: Clinical Therapist II

Position Type: Full Time-Exempt Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly

Location: Houston, 77055 Reports To: Manager of Clinical Services

Department: Clinical Services Travel Percentage: 10%

Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing direct services to clients who have a substance use disorder diagnosis, a co-occurring disorder, or other mental health diagnosis. Services include individual and group counseling, family counseling, couple counseling and psychoeducational groups, sober community building activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate various group for women.
  • Facilitate/supervise client study of recovery-oriented materials and offer support/guidance.
  • Conduct full clinical assessments on each client.
  • Develop treatment and discharge plans with clients.
  • Provide crisis counseling, suicide assessments and support as needed to clients.
  • Document and file all notes in a timely manner that meets all compliance regulations.
  • Act as advocate and liaison w/other service providers and staff members when appropriate
  • Provide services aimed at relapse prevention.
  • Provide psycho-educational groups/ programs.
  • Participate in treatment and discharge planning for clients.
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings.
  • Participate in case staffing.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in clinical staff meetings, WholeLife® collaborative team meetings, and supervision.
  • Participate in all-staff and other meetings designated by The Women’s Home
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of on-site counseling and supportive services that will complement existing services and fill a community need.
  • Attend and assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating events and activities at both campuses.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training for staff, interns and volunteers on chemical dependency topics and issues as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related field
  • LPC-I or LMSW
  • LCDC preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Practice from a client centered, trauma informed perspective.
  • Chemical Dependency treatment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with various chemical dependency models (i.e. 12 step, CBT, Motivational Interviewing)
  • Working with co-occurring experience strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of how to access community resources.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience working with community collaborations preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License

Physical Requirements
