Sheet Metal Foreman

Reports to: Project Manager / Department Manager
Job Description/Qualifications:
Provide direction to sheet metal mechanics and apprentices on a daily basis
Command of the overall day to day activities of the assigned job and team
Review specifications and see that the work is completed per the design intent
Determine the necessary resources (manpower, equipment, subcontractors and materials) from the beginning to end of the project.
Keep track of all manpower, including subcontractors, on a daily basis
Assess progress and prepare daily work schedules to be carried out by the field team and share with the construction coordinator
Keep track of all revisions proposed to the drawings and discuss them with the project manager, so proper change orders can be developed, before completing work not under contract
Complete site safety inspections and tool box talks and fill out and submit reports
Attend general contractor safety and weekly job meetings
Complete site evaluations at the end of each project to ensure any punch lists items are completed
Complete red line as-built drawings to turn over to the project manager upon completion
10+ years of commercial sheet metal construction
The ability to comprehend complex plans and specifications
Firm knowledge of all types HVAC installation
Leadership, good communication skills and the ability to provide coaching when the situation arises
Proficiency to make independent, on-site decisions, to resolve conflicts and keep the site production moving in a positive direction
Strong working skills, using new technology, tablets, smart phones, etc.
Knowledge of Procore project management software is a plus
Requirements:License Required:
Valid driver’s license
Sheet metal masters license
OSHA 10, OSHA 30 a plus
Physical Requirements:
Lifting (approx 50 lbs.), climbing ladders and stairs; bending or stooping; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operating motor vehicles; and ability to operate power and/or hand tools.
Ability to handle frequent loud noises
Ability to accept & meet deadlines

An individual must show a willingness to continue to develop skills in the Plumbing and HVAC/R trade as part of the continued learning process. Must show strong teamwork skills and also be capable of working independently.
