Cost Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced cost accountant to join a manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budget reports, and ensuring that our manufacturing processes are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The cost accountant will work closely with various departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making and drive improvements in our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Analyze manufacturing costs and identify areas for improvement in cost control and cost reduction.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts and budgets.

· Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

· Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

· Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making by management.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.

· Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

· Prepare and present financial reports to management and other stakeholders.

· Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures.

· Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.

· CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.

· Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is a plus.
