Position: Community Based Adolescent-Community Reinforcement Clinician I (OJJDP Grant Funded)

Supervisor: New Visions Program Supervisor

Supervisees: None

FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $44,580.00


WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Oversees interventions and activities with youth participants and their parent/caregiver through the Adolescent-Community Reinforcement Approach model under the service provision of the OJJDP: Opioid Affected Youth grant. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Complete 21 hours of Adolescent-Community Reinforcement Approach model implementation training and 12 consultation calls along with video-taping submissions as required by model
  • Administer the Adolescent-Community Reinforcement approach from multiple locations across Hampton Roads, primarily in the client’s home and various community locations
  • Participate in on-going professional development and supervision
  • Assist A-CRA Supervisor with implementing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan to local partners to expand knowledge and access to the program
  • Facilitate psycho-educational A-CRA training with youth and parent/caregiver: including relapse prevention and sobriety sampling, rapport building, and motivation by reinforcing skills learned during sessions
  • Development of Comprehensive, Individualized Treatment Plans/Goals of Counseling utilizing the Happiness Scale to enhance development of the youth’s problem-solving skills, foster adolescent-caregiver relationship skills, job-seeking skills, and anger management skills
  • Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process as needed
  • Ensure ongoing communication and coordination with team members, partner agencies and community stakeholders throughout service delivery
  • Tracking the day-to-day activities to ensure program tasks are completed on time, successfully, and in a manner consistent with the Adolescent-Community Reinforcement Approach Model, program goals, departmental policies, and grantor’s terms and conditions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychology
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C) or a Licensed Eligible Clinician
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of professional counseling and or social work, including case management methods and techniques
  • Two years’ experience working directly with youth and families providing clinical mental health and substance use treatment interventions in a community setting
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Have access to a personal vehicle without prior notice
  • Must have and maintain a working cell phone
  • Demonstrate proficient computer skills and command of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in using EHR’s and other software applications
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage with clients and maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Demonstrates self-confidence in their decision making and has strong work ethics
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, using both quantitative and qualitative input
  • Knowledge of local social and health resources to make effective referrals and follow-ups
  • Demonstrates knowledge of trauma informed and best practice concepts and practice regarding holistic substance use treatment, recovery, and wellness
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Meet background check requirements
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends as required
  • Able to travel throughout the Hampton Roads area on a regular basis
