This is a remote position.
For over 88 years, we have worked to create trusting relationships with our fire family. The bonds we build are the foundation of our credit union. As the largest, exclusive firefighter credit union in the nation with over $2.0B in assets, we serve over 64,000 members in more than 1,000 fire departments.
Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Collector to join our team! The Senior Collector is responsible for performing debt collection activities on delinquent loans, including consumer, business, real estate loans, credit cards, and negative account balances. They are also responsible for identifying process improvements for the Asset Recovery Department and assisting with deploying them.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performing collection activities such as communicating with members through various channels regarding past due loans and negative share accounts.
- Reviewing Bankruptcy plans and schedules to determine course of action to protect FFCU’s assets.
- Identifying opportunities for process and product improvements and efficiencies, as well as assisting with deploying them.
- Preparing reports necessary to monitor the effectiveness of collection activities.
- Supporting the execution of audits and regulatory reviews for the department.
- Supporting in the creation, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and job aids.
- Working on other assignments to support the credit union’s efforts to deliver value-added products and services to members.
- Participating on project teams by providing specialized knowledge, skills, or resources to progress the business.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in one or more of the following: guest relations, sales, customer service, account management or banking.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience with financial institution.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience performing collection activities.
