Electrical Assembler

Summary

SMS Group Gary is looking for an Electrical Assembler who is able to solder,

assemble industrial cables, junction boxes, instrumentation and motors.

Knowledge and Background:

· Electrical/Electronic aptitude/skills (mechanical aptitude is a plus)

· Experience soldering medium to small electronic parts

· Ability to handle stairs and lifting up to 50lbs.

· Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, tape measures, and scales.

· Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as digital multimeter, ammeter,

loop calibrator, and oscilloscope

· Ability to use tools such as jig saws, drills, and knockouts

· Ability to read and comprehend assembly prints and industrial electrical

schematics.

· Cable-building experience - is a big plus

· Some experience with troubleshooting PLC and automation systems is a plus

· Have a valid / current driver license and good driving record.

Key Responsibilities:

· Building cables to print (measuring, soldering/crimping, sealing, testing with

multimeter)

· Soldering thermocouple arrays

· Assembling industrial instrumentation according to schematic.

· Testing/replacing 3PH AC and/or DC motors on industrial equipment

· Occasional testing/replacing instrumentation at customer sites (Field work)
