Electromechanical Technician

Purpose and Scope:

The Electromechanical Technician will be tasked with the set-up, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment and tooling used in the manufacture of Destruction Devices. This is a hands-on position that will require a high level of proficiency in electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and controls. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities/ Duties – Duties and activities that constitute the performance of the job

• Perform PLC ladder logic programming.• Create schematics for electro/mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with various types of power sources (e.g. AC, DC, single/three-phase).
• Follow assembly instructions, specifications, and schematics.
• Knowledge and experience in operating all types of hand and power tools while adhering to safety instructions.
• Use appropriate supplied measuring devices, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other similar test equipment.
• Resolve assembly problems that may require altering dimensions or tolerances.
• Perform any other company-related tasks as required, such as Service Calls performed remotely and guiding customers through troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
• Great customer service skills via phone and e-mail on Service Calls.
• Ability to complete a project following project drawings and specifications.
• Maintain and modify routine programs, test and document program modifications, and develop operator instructions.
• Review objectives and assignment details with higher-level staff to ensure thorough understanding.
• Uses judgment in selecting among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed or when unanticipated problems arise.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Background/ Experience – Minimum required job experience to adequately perform the duties defined

• Postsecondary technical degree or certification and/or experience in job-relevant related field(s) with a minimum of 3years of experience
• Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or other related fields with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
• Experience with wiring, prototype, and production assemblies.
• Must be prepared to work flexible hours and schedules to meet deadlines.
• A major component of this job involves assembling, testing, and preparing for shipment of equipment that weighs up to 140 lbs.
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Must be physically able to Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time 8-12hrs on a regular basis.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment,
• Strong organizational and communicational skills.
• Detail oriented.
