Seeking: Assistant Professor of Theatrical Costume Design

Reports to: Program Chair of Technical Theatre
The Conservatory for the Performing Arts at Stephens College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, faculty position. The Conservatory offers a three-year, two summer BFA in Theatrical Costume Design. This position includes both academic and design responsibilities. In addition to the BFA in Theatrical Costume Design, the Conservatory offers a BFA in Technical Theatre/Stage Management, Musical Theatre, Acting, and Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies.
Responsibilities:
- Teach/Design the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester.
- Oversight of the Costume Shop
- Oversight and or costume design of multiple productions each year.
- Student advising
- Collaborate with program chairs, faculty, directors, designers, and/or guest artists.
- Work daily with students in all areas of costume production.
- Encourage and maintain professional standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MFA in Costume Design
- Demonstrated professional experience
- Experience teaching at a higher learning institution
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
