JOB SUMMARY:

The General Manager will lead the overall business operations encompassing sales, business development, procurement, sales operations, lab operations, inventory control, and warehouse distribution for fire alarm parts. Your key responsibility is to steer the company towards achieving sales and profit goals by fostering a customer-centric and efficient operational environment. This role demands a strategic approach to managing relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and key stakeholders, while spearheading initiatives for continuous operational improvements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Business Development & Sales Strategy:
  • Drive growth by developing plans, metrics and compensation plans that incentivize performance and expansion.
  • Oversee and enhance outside sales efforts to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Sales Operations:
  • Guarantee exceptional service delivery by the customer service team to both internal and external clients.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure high service quality and financial success.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management:
  • Manage the timely procurement of fire alarm parts to maintain optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency.
  • Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Lab Operations:
  • Support lab operations managed by dedicated supervisors, focusing on the repair and reconditioning of parts.
  • Ensure proper planning for lab capacity and capabilities to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Develop processes to monitor and control inventory, avoiding excess and shortages.
  • Oversee the execution of inventory adjustments and disposals according to policy.
  • Warehouse & Distribution:
  • Ensure efficient and accurate warehouse operations in distributing parts.
  • Continually aid in refining receiving, shipping, and storage procedures.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and support to managers and supervisors across all operational areas.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), deliver regular performance evaluations, and mentor staff for professional growth.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement timely resolutions.
  • Champion process improvements using methodologies like LEAN and Six Sigma.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • High school Diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in sales management or operations management with a proven track record in scaling customer-centric sales organizations.

Communication Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.

Systems and Software Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with experience in supply chain management software.

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFPH’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 20%.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods. Employee will occasionally be required to bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, drive, twist, and reach above and below shoulders.

Work Environment:

Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Office settings are mild to moderate temperatures.
