About the Opportunity:

USPS is looking to staff a new project to fulfill the needs of their Facilities organization and support their new initiative called IPME. As part of this initiative along with Booz Allen Hamilton partner we will be implementing a Java based application using Java, SpringBoot, JSF, Primefaces and kafka. The IPME product is the modernization effort of their legacy EFMS application. To fulfill this need USPS is looking to fill a Sr. Java Developer role for this project.

Position: Sr. Java Developer

Work Location: Remote

Client: USPS

Primary Responsibilities

• Familiar with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex applications programs.
• Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex application programming problems, taking computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results into consideration.
• Works at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities.

• Additional Requirements:

• Experience using Java programming language with Spring boot/Spring framework/MVC
• Experience with Eclipse IDE, SQL Developer and other IDE based tools.
• Experience with Hibernate, JPA, JSF, Primefaces, JSP and Java EE technologies.
• Experienced with Javascript, JQuery and Angular Javascript framework.
• Experienced on web application, and web services (must be familiar with XML and JSON) design
• Experienced on Junit, Mockito and code coverage frameworks. TDD and BDD are a plus.
• Experienced on GitHub, Sonar Qube, Sonar Lint, Dependency check, automating tests in Jenkins and experience in DevSecOps pipeline.
• Experience building microservices using SpringBoot.
• Strong Database concepts and SQL development experience and RDBMS comcepts.
• Familiar with Websphere, Tomcat and/or WildFly application servers.
• Familiar or knowledge of Kafka data streaming platform and consuming and publishing topics.
• Familiar with section 508 compliant UI design is a plus
• To be able to demonstrate current work is a plus
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test

Additional Provisions

• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
• Once a candidate's resume is approved and the interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
• An offer contingent upon successful USPS Public Trust clearance will be extended to the candidate.
• If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
• Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
• All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
• The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in area of specialty
• 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area

Mon-Fri 9 to 5

Support team during offhours with prior permission.
