Job Description
Salary:

Provide formal Systems Approach to Training compliant instruction to Marine Officer Joint Fires Observer students utilizing lecture, live, virtual and simulations methods. 

      • Serve as primary instructors assisting the Marine Detachment Ft. Sill OK in conducting Joint Fires Observer Instruction, and Fire Support Coordination Training.
      • Provide formal classroom instruction in accordance with the JFO Programs of Instruction (POIs and provide subject matter expert (SME) support for observed fire procedures for the JFO Course. Training must comply with all elements of the JFO MOA and provide input into the coordination of policy, guidance and documentation for implementation and sustainment of the Marine Corps' JFO program.
      • Recommend and coordinate development and implementation of upgrades on current scenarios and development of new scenarios to maintain relevancy of simulator training for both Close Air Support (CAS) and ground based fire support modules.
      • Prepare lesson plans for each period of instruction for which he/she is assigned instructional responsibility. This must reflect the material content and methodology required to achieve the instructional objectives.
      • Participate as SME in developing revisions to POIs, lesson plans and training support packages (TSPs) in support of Joint Fires Observer instruction.
      • Maintain the POI and lesson plans by incorporating lessons learned, doctrine, and current evolving TTPs into the POI via the USMC Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) Model.
      • Instruct Joint call for fire procedures using approved USMC Call for Fire Simulators / Trainers (MSAT, CAVE or DVTE).

Possess Basic Instructor Certification (Curriculum Developers Course highly desired)

Have prior experience (3 years) as either as a certified JFO, FAC, FAC(A), or JTAC

      • Have recent experience in fire support weapons systems, munitions and means of guidance/delivery
      • Have confidence in teaching and presenting material in a classroom and field environment
      • Have the ability to travel and support mobile training teams (CONUS and Hawaii)
      • Be able to instruct and teach basic call for fire procedures required of the Joint Fires Observer (JFO) Type II or Type III CAS, TGO, ITG, as per the JFO MOA requirements
      • Be capable of providing assessments and evaluations of student performance in accordance with the POI and tailor individual training sessions as needed to remediate
  • Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
