Ameristeel Constructors has been providing Texas with high quality structural steel fabrication for more than 15 years. We are a well-respected steel supplier and fabricator. Our structural steel shop has a wide variety of products such as arched lintels, arched plates, masonry steel lintels, and column and beam support structures.

Job Title: Welder Helper

Pay: $14.50

Location: 2800 North Gordon Street Alvin, TX 77511

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Position Summary: A successful structural steel fabrication shop has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Welder Helper.

Description of responsibilities:

• Cut pieces of steel using powered saws, hand shears, cutting torch or iron worker.
• Clean welds with a chipping hammer, electric grinder, or chipping knife.
• Safely operate the punch machines.
• Fasten bundles of angle with straps.
• Learn to operate the burner table.
• Gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
• Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• General warehouse duties such as: sweeping, picking up trash, stocking, cleaning, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required experience and skills:

• Excellent work ethic and time management skills
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
