SHIFT HOURS will be 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Medical Office Assistant with experience in phlebotomy techniques and front office tasks. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care. Your ability to connect with patients, handle administrative tasks, and assist with medical procedures will contribute to their overall healing journey.

Responsibilities:

Phlebotomy and IV Therapies:

  • Administer IV therapies from start to finish.
  • Record vital signs accurately.
  • Prepare IV bags and ensure proper infusion.
  • Provide attentive care to patients during IV treatments.
  • Collect blood, urine, and other samples for lab tests.
  • Prepare and send samples with requisition forms to appropriate labs.
  • Instruct patients on proper preparation for specialty lab tests.

Front Office Tasks:

  • Type encounter notes into our electronic medical records (EMR) system for IV therapies and occasional doctor visits.
  • Handle prescription refill requests efficiently.
  • Cross-train to manage front desk operations.
  • Answer phones professionally and assist callers.
  • Process prescription refills promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients.
  • Assist with minor procedures (limited scope).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform EKGs as needed.
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies (needles, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and front office tasks.
  • Certification: Preferred certification in phlebotomy or related field.
  • Social Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interactions.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently within the scope of training.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate record-keeping and sample handling.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare providers.
