Home Health Aide

McGregor PACE is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE site), the alternative to nursing home placement providing services that address the medical, rehabilitative, social and personal care needs enabling seniors to remain safely at home, in the community.

We are expanding into Lorain County and are seeking experienced Home Health Aides / Certified HHA, CNA's or STNA's

$15.50/hour

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for the day-to-day personal care and safety of the participant.

2. Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including: personal care, toileting, bathing, ambulation, feeding, dressing and participating in recreational activities; encourages independence as appropriate.

3. Responsible for light housekeeping, laundry, and assisting with meal preparation.

4. Anticipates needs in order to carry through activities in organized, efficient manner; prepares all supplies and work area before beginning activities.

5. Completes required documentation, including notes, etc., according to organizational guidelines and time frames, in a legible and complete manner.

7. Reports participant status changes to supervisor and other staff as relevant.

8. Validates competency in basic skills and personal care services, annually, and as otherwise required.

9. Assists with errands – grocery shopping or replenishing household goods.

10. Understands and utilizes principles of infection control, including handwashing, bag procedures and care of the infectious patient.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. Requires Home Health Aide certification or CNA (certified nursing assistant) or STNA (state tested nursing assistant) education required.
• Prior experience working with frail, older adults, or persons with special needs, required; experience with dementia patients, desirable.
• Patient, flexible in ability to communicate with all family members. Compassionate and understanding of the needs of frail older person.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license or State of Ohio identification and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift or move 50 – 75 lbs.
• Bilingual English / Spanish a PLUS!
