Quality Control Lab Technician - (2nd - 3rd Shift)

PrideStaff is partnered with one of the leading companies in the Food Manufacturing industry, and they are seeking new QA Lab Technicians for their talented team!

This is a TEMP-TO-HIRE opportunity! Our client is invested in the future of their associates. After that being hired on, associates are eligible for $0.50 raises at the 90 and 180 day marks. It doesn't end there- there are higher levels within the lab department, creating many opportunities for promotion!

While our client is seeking to train new associates at entry level, we still encourage those with prior Food Manufacturing and/or Laboratory experience to apply! There are multiple levels within the lab department, and experienced individuals may enter at a higher level. This will be 48 hours a week. This job requires six shifts a week, so you will only have one day off.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $19.50/hour

Second Shift: 1:45 PM - 10:15 PM (Two Opening)

Third Shift: 9:45 PM - 6:15 AM (One Openings)

***Work days vary each week - occasional weekend shifts  are required to cover your six shifts. Some overtime may be required. The supervisors do their best to accommodate everyone's schedule needs and are willing to work with each associate

Position Overview: The Lab Technician reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for verifying that product meets or exceeds safe food handling and quality standards.

Key Job Functions & Responsibilities of Lab Technician:

• Verify product quality and integrity by checking the production line during the filling of each lot
• Monitor the line and equipment for food safety related items such as good manufacturing practices and proper sanitation practices.
• Ensure proper use and care of analytical instruments and equipment, including daily calibration checks.
• Inspect rework before it is used and make sure documentation provides traceability.
• Receive Raw Materials and follow necessary procedures to ensure compliance to company receipt, handling and storage processes.
• Assist in problem solving events to determine root cause and establish preventive measures.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional course work in (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science) or related discipline a plus.
• Experience in a factory warehouse environment
• Ability to follow directions.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow procedures.
• Flexible work schedule and the ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills
• Previous Quality Control and/or Lab Tech experience preferred

***Individuals with solid experience in Food Manufacturing may be brought in at a higher level.
