Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-level to experienced Mechanical Engineer to grow our Golf Vehicles engineering and product development team. We are looking for a talented energetic engineer that has a passion for vehicles to help us continue to elevate the golf car to a vehicle that people look forward to sharing with their families and showing off to their friends. In this role, the engineer will have the opportunity to support the Club Car assembly line with design solutions as well as new product development projects.  This job will provide excellent opportunities to gain familiarity and knowledge in Club Car products, processes and our people.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the design process of vehicle related components and modules from concept to production for sustaining production line support as well as new product development and technology projects.

· Ensures technical rigor for all projects assigned (Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, APQP, and Technical Design Reviews).

· Perform project related assignments and work directly with all functions of the organization to ensure project success with respect to Quality, Delivery and Cost.

· Transform market requirements into system, subsystem and component requirements.

· Leads cross functional team to create DFMEAs and DVPs (Design Validation Plans)

· Utilize PTC Creo to design & develop mechanical components, subsystems and systems

· Create and release component and assembly drawings using GD&T when appropriate

· Collaborates with manufacturing engineers to ensure Design For Manufacture (DFM) and to incorporate designs into manufacturing processes.

· Works closely with suppliers to develop components and subsystems that meet specifications.

· Works closely with manufacturing and procurement teams supporting and ensuring production quality and efficiency

Qualifications:

· BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field of study with minimum 5 years of experience

· Demonstrated expertise in product & assembly design for different manufacturing processes

· Demonstrated use and experience with CAD software; PTC Creo preferred

· Detailed understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

· Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills including 8D Problem Solving Process.

· Experience working in a vehicle related business preferred.

· Solid Project Management/leadership skills

· Excellent technical, analytical problem solving skills.

· Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.

· Experienced in applying and understanding the results of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

· Process knowledge for plastics: injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and other common processes used for the manufacturing of products made from polymeric materials.

· Process knowledge for metals: extrusion, stamping, die cast, welding, and other common manufacturing processes.

· Ability to follow internal engineering design processes and best practices.

· Intermediate to Advanced in MS Project & Excel
