Aqua Fitness Instructor

The Aqua Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading safe and effective aqua exercise programs and classes for participants of all ages and fitness levels and must possess the ability to accommodate and anticipate member needs and modifications. Knowledge of exercise selections for both shallow and deep-water classes preferred.
The Aqua Fitness Instructor will work with club staff to ensure all safety requirements are followed and to offer the highest level of service to our members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:·
- Exhibit leadership abilities as the Aqua Fitness Instructor.
- Create, promote and teach safe and effective aqua fitness classes.
- Possess the ability to implement activities and take initiative.
- Maintain documentation of activities and rosters.
- Maintain accurate records including registration, incidents reports, etc.
- Be a positive role model in your attitude and behavior.
- Develop and maintain a supportive environment that encourages the needs, interests and goals of each member.
- Fosters positive and supportive relationships with staff.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Wellness Services Supervisor.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent,
- 2 years prior teaching experience preferred.
Qualifications/Certifications:
- Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Current National Certification: All group fitness and aqua fitness instructors are required to have a current national certification (AEA, AFM, ACE, NDEITA, YMCA, ACSM, or comparable)

*Perk: Employees instructing morning classes may bring their children, ages 3 months - 5 years, at no additional cost.
