Ultrasound Technician Job, Full Time, Primary Care

Sanitas Medical Center is hiring a Full Time Ultrasound Technician for our Tampa - North Port facility in North Port, FL.

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

Ultrasound Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of ultrasound equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate. Position patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors, assist physicians.

• Perform the quality control functions related to ultrasound.

• Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed.

• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explain procedures to patients.

• Develop ultrasound film. Match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.

• Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data.

• Demonstrate proficiency in performing all ultrasound procedures, to include interventional procedures and ultrasound.

• Act in a team leader capacity on a routine basis.

• Monitor ultrasound section procedures and supply charges to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ARDMS Registered. ARDMS Abdominal Mammography required.

• BLS certification

• 1 year of experience

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or Vascular accredited program.

• Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred

• Relevant or any other job-related vocational coursework.
