We are looking for an Veterinary Medicine- Emergency Internship to join the team!
- We are offering a one-year ER-focused internship optimized for new graduates.
- Start date: optimally July 1. For some candidates with unique circumstances, we may be able to extend the start date into August.
- Length - Internship is for 12 months and meets the Oregon State Veterinary Medical Board Intern Permit requirements.
- Qualifications: DVM or equivalent from accredited veterinary institution. Oregon veterinary license. DEA license. Prior externship, site visit, prior employment, or other equivalent experience at Willamette required for full consideration.
- Position expectations: FT employment as an intern. 3 shifts (10-13 hr each+ rounds) per week, weekly intern topic rounds, monthly DVM meeting. Learning is focused on becoming a proficient receiving ER DVM as well as managing ICU inpatient cases. 20-30% of internship will include nights. Those with an ER-focused mindset and proactive attitude will gain the most from this opportunity. Interest in staying in SA ER field is a preferred criteria. Those interested in staying locally in Oregon will be considered for a full-time ER position upon successful completion of the internship. As we are a learning institution, there is an expectation to work with MVP externs (opportunity to teach as you learn) if overlapped schedules are present.

- Interest in both emergency medicine and surgery
- Oregon Veterinary License (intern)– active and in good standing at time of start date
