Job Description

We are looking for an Veterinary Medicine- Emergency Internship to join the team!

We are offering a one-year ER-focused internship optimized for new graduates.
Start date: optimally July 1. For some candidates with unique circumstances, we may be able to extend the start date into August.
Length - Internship is for 12 months and meets the Oregon State Veterinary Medical Board Intern Permit requirements.
Qualifications: DVM or equivalent from accredited veterinary institution. Oregon veterinary license. DEA license. Prior externship, site visit, prior employment, or other equivalent experience at Willamette required for full consideration.
Position expectations: FT employment as an intern. 3 shifts (10-13 hr each+ rounds) per week, weekly intern topic rounds, monthly DVM meeting. Learning is focused on becoming a proficient receiving ER DVM as well as managing ICU inpatient cases. 20-30% of internship will include nights. Those with an ER-focused mindset and proactive attitude will gain the most from this opportunity. Interest in staying in SA ER field is a preferred criteria. Those interested in staying locally in Oregon will be considered for a full-time ER position upon successful completion of the internship. As we are a learning institution, there is an expectation to work with MVP externs (opportunity to teach as you learn) if overlapped schedules are present.

Requirements

Interest in both emergency medicine and surgery
Oregon Veterinary License (intern)– active and in good standing at time of start date
