Job Description
Position Function:

Prepares financial and regulatory reports for Central Pacific Financial Corp. and its subsidiaries. Ensures timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of reports and filings and the Company's compliance with all accounting and financial reporting policies, generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"), and banking regulatory requirements. Keeps abreast of all changes in accounting and reporting requirements and facilitates changes in policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance. This position provides exposure to business-related issues and the opportunity to develop analytical, business judgment, technical, and interpersonal skills.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and analyze external financial and regulatory reports (Call Report, FR-2644, FR-Y9C, FR-Y9LP) for the FDIC, FRB, DFI, and SEC. Collect institutional data and prepare financial reports and surveys to other federal and state government agencies. Assist with the preparation of financial reports to management.
  • Perform day-to-day general accounting and financial reporting functions and month-end close processes for CPF, CPB and affiliated entities. Prepare accounting entries, maintain accounting records, perform monthly closing accrual calculations, prepare consolidated and stand-alone financial statements, and analyze financial results to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement processes that streamline and automate tasks to create efficiencies.
  • Assist with software conversions and implementation. Participate in special projects in support of the Company’s strategic initiatives to improve performance and enhance shareholder value.
  • Assist with the quarterly reviews, annual financial statement and benefit plan audits, and periodic examinations by auditors and regulators. Prepare and update proper documentation and internal procedures.
  • Perform variance analysis, prepare account reconciliations, and assist with research and resolution of accounting issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years combination of financial reporting/accounting and/or banking experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
