What You’ll Do:
  • Perform alignments on commercial and passenger vehicles.
  • Diagnose tire wear issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations with typical repairs including but not limited to routine maintenance, alignments, brakes, suspension components, and tires.
  • Read and interpret vehicle condition reports and/or repair orders, communicate with supervisor and/or vehicle owners for clarification of problems, and discuss preventive techniques with vehicle owners to minimize future repairs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wheel alignments, suspension components, and brake work.
  • Complete paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounts for applied times with work order times versus timecard times.
  • Responsible for fabrication and welding repairs.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Remove and properly dispose of fluids including oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, gasoline, diesel, and antifreeze.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and regularly inspect for problems.
  • Always keep the work area clean and safe.
What You’ll Need:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
  • Forklift certification. Training and certification available.
  • New York State Vehicle Inspector License. Company-sponsored education provided.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. This is a smoke-free environment for safety reasons.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
