Position Summary:

The Landscaping and Snow Removal Manager position requires a highly organized, personable, service-oriented individual with a high level of property maintenance knowledge. Position has overall responsibility for maintaining the winter and summer landscape within the Moonlight Community including; club facilities and amenities, residential snow removal, property wide roadway snow removal, sub-HOA landscaping and snow removal, property wide weed management with particular attention towards safety and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, equipment, maintenance, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Develops and implements strategies that will deliver products and services, which meet or exceeds the needs and expectations of the members, owners and employees while maximizing the financial performance. Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, this position requires timely and effective communications between the operations team, third party contractors, vendors, members and guests related to day-to-day duties and responsibilities.


Job Duties:

• Manage the Moonlight Basin landscape including roads, drainage, native vegetation, landscaping, club facility landscaping and amenities, and equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

o Snow removal contracts

o Residential snow removal contracts

o Fire hydrant and propane tank (MB residential program) maintenance

o Winter and summer trail network

o Property wide weed management

o Road and ditch maintenance

o Ice skating surface development and maintenance

o Firewood management for club facilities and the residential program

• Administer service contracts to support the departmental revenue stream and overall property needs

• Manage, review, coach and support the landscaping and snow removal team to effectively manage controllable expenses (e.g. wages, heat, light and power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, inventory, etc.)

• Ensure integration of departmental goals and strategy

• Develop and manage the landscaping and snow removal budget

• Oversees execution of long-term preventative maintenance and 10-year asset protection plans

• Review, manage, and provide comments on the monthly P&L reporting; revenue, payroll, and expenses

• Addresses potential areas of concern and proposing solutions to owners in a proactive manner

• Supervise approved projects to ensure timely completion within budgetary guidelines

• Monitor and manage payroll functions within the department

• Manage department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals

• Lead the development and implementation of department’s capital expenditures

• Understands the impact of department’s operation on the overall property financial goals; educates staff on details as appropriate

• Resolve owner/member issues and complaints


Conducting Human Resource Activities

• Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably

• Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard Operating Procedures

• Ensures that regular on-going communication takes place throughout the landscaping and snow removal department; daily operations activities, set expectations and create awareness of business objectives


Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license

• Reliable Vehicle

• 2-year degree from an accredited university, 4 year’s experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area

• One to three years of hospitality experience at a hotel, private club, or other hospitality venue

• Intermediate to Expert level of Microsoft Office systems

• Certified applicators license (State of Montana)

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be able to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

• Must be able to communicate by various means including but not limited to phone, email, and text.

• Must be able to follow instructions.

• Must be able to study and acquire knowledge of all club operations.

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment.

• Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.


Physical Demands:

• This job requires daily work in the field. You may be required to travel in inclement weather conditions between properties.

• You must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Position requires sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
