Duties

Plans, develops, and provides childcare oversight, mentoring, structure, and routine for shelter residents
Plans and provides active interactions and involvement with shelter residents
Provides relevant information to parents, guardians, and referral sources
Conducts intake interviews and/or refers shelter clientele and families to necessary agencies
Inspects and maintains facility while on shift in accordance with health, fire safety codes, licensing requirements, appropriate standards, agency policy and contractual requirements
Prepares meals and snacks at appropriate times
Validates accuracy of shift records and case recordings
Completes required training hour requirements
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school, or having complete the requirements for a General Educational Development (GED)
May substitute experience in working with troubled children and/or youth for educational requirements
Displaying an advanced understanding of approved professional childcare practices
Certification as a Child Care Worker may be counted as educational experience
Ability to work different shifts
