CNC Machinist - Lathe

Position Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in setting up CNC vertical and horizontal turning Lathes.
• Knowledge: Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, thickness gauge instruments, and their applications.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing interpretation.
• Intermediate knowledge of cutting tools, boring bars, inserts, and tool holding devices.
• Ability to follow planning and written instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment; handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and adjust to changing work schedules.
• Sufficient math skills for fabrication of critical aerospace components.
• CNC programming skills are advantageous.
• Experience with Specific Equipment:
• G & L Mori Seiki, Shibaura, Haas turning lathe equipment (preferred).
• Must have experience with Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities:

• Support operators across shifts in loading/unloading parts and fixtures, ensuring smooth transition and compliance with instructions.
• Set tool offsets and perform simple edits as directed by the programmer.
• Detect and report equipment malfunctions and potential out of tolerance conditions.
• Facilitate communication between Quality, Production Control, and other departments to resolve any quality or programming issues.
• Conduct daily preventive maintenance to ensure machines are in good working order.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
