WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Iowa Sports Management's Water Safety Instructors are responsible for scheduling and reporting any swim instruction via our online platform, communicating with clients in a timely and professional manner, and maintaining current certifications.

Primary Tasks

• Maintaining current American Red Cross Water Safety Instruction certification through recertification class or authorized provider class registration.
• Keeping current with the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim standards and procedures.
• Entering at least five (5) hours of open availability on a weekly basis to better serve our clients.
• Scheduling lessons through our online platform at least 24 hours before meeting with a client.
• Maintaining the professional integrity and responsibility to the client at all times.
• Instructing students of the proper techniques and policies to remain safe in, on, and around the water.

Secondary Tasks

• Being readily available via e-mail for client’s questions, supervisor correspondence, and lesson requests.
• Arriving to scheduled lessons at least 10 minutes early to ensure a prompt start.
• Following a lesson, reporting the session as completed in the online application.
• Composing articles for our mobile application to engage and inform new and existing clients.

Qualifications Needed

• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Current American Red Cross CPR certification or equivalent.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision.
• Available to work weekends.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patrons regarding concerns, problems, or any other significant issues.
