Nurse Practitioner (full-time)

The Maryland Institute for pelvic NeuroScience (MIpNS) is seeking to hire a licensed, board certified, mid level health care provider. At this time, our preference would be a Nurse Practitioner, CRNP. To better understand the desired scope of practice in this case, it is worthwhile to review the mission of MIpNS. To that end, it should be noted that MIpNS is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary medical group dedicated to treatment of all types of Neuromuscular Neuro-inflammatory disorders focused or referred to the anatomic pelvis. Many patients that suffer with these types of conditions end up going through a series of treatment options, at many different specialty practices before getting to our group. Therefore, centers such as MIpNS are really becoming the future of “disease state specific” clinical medicine. For these reasons,
MIpNS is being asked to expand specialized services into more hospitals extended care facilities, (ECF’s), with an attendant need for enhanced mid level support. Naturally, the mid level provider will not have an adequate knowledge base to begin practicing independently. So, “On the Job” clinical training will be administered through gentle but didactic oversight. In addition, their academic prowess will be developed through participation in Grand Rounds as well as multiple “Round Table” discussions and “One on One” technical training. Finally, many diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are required in this patient population. These are often procedural in nature. Therefore, the ideal candidate is someone who would be moderately dexterous and enthusiastic about being trained in this regard. Specific Duties will include:

- To See and Evaluate Patients in Extended Care Facilities, (ECFs)
- Perform Clinical Consultative Services in the Area of Pelvic Medicine and Urology
- Manage Foley Catheter Related Infectious Issues
- Manage problems with involuntary urine leakage
- Manage problems with inability to empty the urinary bladder
- Understand and interpret Urodynamic Studies with PFM EMGs
- Perform “On Site” bedside cystometric studies
- Be open to learning and becoming certified in “Flexible Cystoscopy”
- Developing Clinical and Administrative skills in an Ambulatory Surgery setting
- Coordinate appropriate patient follow up at transfer or discharge
Salary will start anywhere from $100,000.00 to $135,000.00 depending on experience, previous
training, baseline technical skill and degree of enthusiasm.
