CAD Designer

Job Description

Job Duties:

• Create computer-aided design (CAD) work and visual-aided drawings, coordinating closely with technicians on CAD drawings.
• Prepare preliminary engineering designs for full and interior building demolitions, along with drafting sequential demolition analyses of structures.
• Conduct basic survey work to support design efforts, including field visits as required.
• Assist Professional Engineers (PE) in conducting structural stability inspections of buildings before and during construction, ensuring compliance with approved plans and building codes.
• Research current building and design codes to support the design phase of new buildings or structural renewals.
• Generate engineering calculations and perform structural analysis for simple structural components of buildings.
• Assess losses in strength, functionality, and value through safety and damage assessments, reliability and risk analyses, and component and material testing.
• Aid in the analysis to develop design options or recommendations, as well as assisting in the preparation of requirements and specifications for structural engineering projects.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 12 months of work experience in a similar or related position within a civil engineering or construction firm.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Field experience preferred.
