We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team.

ABOUT US
The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.

We are currently seeking a FT Case Management Supervisor to oversee the Case Management Department at our homeless shelter in Miami, FL.

JOB SUMMARY

The Case Management Supervisor (CMS) reports to the Programs Manager, and provides case management services, crisis intervention, support and referral services for clients and staff. The CMS will be responsible for overseeing/supervising the provision of discipleship counseling of residents and clients in the Case Management Department. Duties also include assisting the Programs Manager in collecting data, entering data and overseeing tracking systems, attending various assigned meetings and being the key contact person for Regeneration Program case management staff. The CMS will also engage in positive networking efforts in local communities.

DUTIES

  • Takes initiative to make decisions that protect the Mission and benefit the residents
  • Periodically reviews treatment plans and performs follow-up to determine quantity and quality of service being provided to residents
  • Documents all case activity; prepares correspondence and completes appropriate paperwork; and prepares weekly and monthly reports according to company guidelines
  • Reviews case files with direct reports and keeps the Programs Manager informed
  • Addresses performance issues in a timely manner and maintains a professional relationship with staff
  • Secures the cooperation of social service agencies and local community resources to meet the needs of residents, and advocates for the development and/or maintenance of services for resident
  • Updates Rommel database accurately and in a timely manner to generate correct information for reports
  • Treats residents with respect, and shows love and compassion in all interactions
  • Uses solid biblical principles to enhance positive life changes in residents
  • Utilizes solid case management principles to oversee the care of resident.
  • Is fair and consistent in resolving staff grievances, and fosters a cohesive team environment by practicing servant leadership
  • Maintains a professional image when dealing with the public
  • Solicits partnerships with community resources that can benefit residents
  • Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events
  • Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department and supervises team of Case Managers
  • Leads, trains and conduct staff performance evaluations
  • Oversees all client progress notes and documentation
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of experience in a homeless or similar ministry; Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, CAP Certification, and addictions/recovery training are preferred
  • Must have individual or group biblical teaching experience
  • Must have a valid State of Florida driver’s license
  • Must have the ability to make practical application of scriptural principles in relation to assisting residents overcome addictions
  • Must have knowledge of homeless men and their needs: addiction etiology, recovery principles, relapse prevention, human growth and development; and biblically based counseling techniques
  • Must be able to lead residents by personal Christian testimony
  • Must be able to multi-task and make sound judgments in a fair and compassionate manner.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and all levels of residents, employees, volunteers and guests
  • Must be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
  • Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties
