San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full-time EVS/ Facilities Manager to join our team! This position will train, lead, and direct custodians and housekeepers of the EVS staff in daily, weekly, monthly projects and tasks which will include day shift, 2nd shift, and weekends. In addition the manager will ensure work is performed timely and according to organizational and regulatory standards.

What You'll Need:

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • C.H.E.S.T or other executive housekeeping certification preferred.
  • Acceptable driving record allowing individual to be insured.
  • Minimum 5 years’ housekeeping experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years' housekeeping supervisory required.
  • Ability to perform the same tasks as Custodians and Housekeepers.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used for cleaning in a healthcare setting. Experience in use of all equipment used in cleaning; including rotary buffers, high speed buffers, carpet extractors.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to interact effectively with immediate EVS staff as well as patients, visitors, and other hospital/ clinic staff.
  • Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft Word and Excel.

What You'll Do:

  • Trains all new EVS staff to perform all tasks outlined in their job descriptions. Coaches staff by recognizing good performance and counseling them where improvement is needed.
  • Provides accurate schedules for all staff. Receives requests for time off and schedules that as staffing allows while meeting the needs of the facilities department.
  • Makes daily rounds on all areas and ensures work is being performed to standards.
  • Meet regularly and communicate to other department managers of all areas covered, solicit feedback on work performed.
  • Meet regularly with staff ensuring they are current on their training needs and all pertinent information that should be shared is communicated effectively.
  • Tracks laundry usage and ensures an adequate supply of clean linen to all patient care areas. Communicates effectively with laundry vendor.
  • Willing to work different shifts and holidays to accommodate facility's needs while promoting positive interpersonal relationships with fellow employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Assist employees in finishing their tasks if the workload demands (high census, short staffing, or both) and reporting back to the Director of Facilities.
  • Participates in on-call system and may work weekends when needed.
