About The Role:

As a Government Relations Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our Government Relations team in their efforts to engage with various government agencies and stakeholders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government affairs, public policy, and advocacy while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Salary: $18-$21/hr

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on government policies, regulations, legislative initiatives, and public sector technology trends. Analyze potential implications for our company and prepare summaries and reports to keep the team informed.
  • Monitoring Legislation: Monitor legislative activities and government procurement opportunities related to our industry and target markets. Keep the Government Relations team informed of any relevant updates that could impact our business.
  • Stakeholder Mapping: Assist in mapping and maintaining a database of key government stakeholders, including elected officials, agency leaders, and decision-makers within the public sector organizations we target.
  • Outreach and Communications: Support the Government Relations team in drafting letters, emails, and other communications materials to engage with government officials and stakeholders. Help schedule and coordinate meetings, briefings, and events with public sector representatives.
  • Policy Advocacy: Collaborate with the team to develop position papers, talking points, and advocacy materials to influence public policy decisions in favor of our company's interests and the broader benefits of SaaS solutions in the public sector.
  • Industry Associations: Assist in engaging with relevant industry associations and organizations to stay updated on industry developments, collaborate on joint initiatives, and participate in events or conferences.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to ensure alignment on government relations strategies and support any public sector-related activities.
  • Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, organizing documents, and handling logistics for government-related activities.

What You'll Need To Have:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government Relations, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in public sector affairs, government relations, and technology policy.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with legislative processes and government structures is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Previous internship or experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
