We are looking for a Survey Office Technician to join our Tampa Survey group!
Provide technical support and assistance to surveyors and engineers in the office setting. You will be instrumental in processing and managing data collected from field surveys, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Your role involves utilizing various software applications and tools to compile, analyze, and interpret survey data.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Basic calculations for field crews.
- Review and compare crew field book information to final maps.
- Prepare sketch and descriptions from field collected data.
- Perform processing for utilizing GPS processing software.
- Extract topographic features from LiDAR point clouds.
- Process survey data using Trimble Business Center.
- Utilize Standards of Practice and/or FDOT checklists for product preparation.
- Analyze deeds and research materials for production of survey and mapping products.
- Assist in Quality Control of field collected data for submittals.
- Preparation of survey estimates, surveyor’s reports, and meeting minutes.
- Utilize GIS software to create, maintain, and analyze spatial data for engineering and survey projects.
- Generate maps, reports, and visualizations to support project deliverables.
What you'll need
- Associate's degree in surveying technology, geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
- CAD certification from a recognized institution or organization is a plus.
- Proficiency in surveying software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, ArcGIS, or similar applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with surveying techniques, equipment, and terminology.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with data management and report generation.
