Machine Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by setting up and operating core machines, ensuring the production of high-quality cores used in various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow written work instructions for the setup of shell and/or warm box core machines, including installing and aligning core boxes and blow plates, adjusting timers, temperatures, pressures, and sand types as specified.
Verify shell and/or warm box temperatures, clean core boxes, and apply release spray as per guidelines.
Set up machines by installing and aligning core boxes, blow plates, and gassing plates, entering part numbers into the computer, and ensuring sand and resin levels are correct.
Adhere to instructions for removing parting fins, mud cores, and conducting inspections to identify any defects in the cores.
Properly tag, package, and arrange cores on shipping racks, and perform stretch wrapping when necessary.
Execute all duties with a strong focus on quality and productivity.
Report any problems or concerns to supervisors promptly.
Stand for extended periods (8-10 hours), occasionally lift weights ranging from 50-75 pounds, and regularly handle loads of 10-20 pounds. The job may also involve bending, twisting, turning, squatting, reaching, pulling, pushing, and using tools.
Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) safety requirements, including wearing earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes at all times, and using respirator masks as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated work areas.
Be willing to perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in core machine operation or a similar manufacturing role is preferred.
Ability to follow written instructions and work independently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality cores.
Physical stamina and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
