Architectural Job Captain

Kamus + Keller Interiors | Architecture is a growing, full-service architecture and design firm with diverse commercial clients. We are seeking an experienced JOB CAPTAIN to work out of our LONG BEACH office to prepare construction documents, conduct site surveys, and coordinate consultants for various retail interiors projects.

As a JOB CAPTAIN, you will be responsible for:

• Create thorough sets of highly technical construction documents without supervision.
• Excellent communication skills with the client, team, consultants, and government officials.
• Ability to coordinate Structural and MEP Consultant Drawings.
• Superior knowledge of technical detailing, construction materials and methods.
• Ability to source products and materials.
• Thorough understanding of the Construction Administration process.
• Perform detailed site surveys.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years’ retail interior design experience.
• Bachelors’ Degree preferred; professional design certifications are highly desired.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD required, SketchUp and Revit a plus.
• Efficiency in managing multiple tenant improvement projects across all phases.
• Knowledge of architectural interior design concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced technical knowledge of all aspects of retail interior design, including Building Code and Title 24 expertise.
• Ability to take direction and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Regular travel across the United States required.
