Position Overview: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with the accounting team, reporting directly to the Manger/Director of Accounting Operations. The individual will be responsible for performing collections, resolving client A/R issues, reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and generating invoices.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain up-to-date billing system.
- Posts payment to owners account as required.
- Follow up, collection and allocation of payments.
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
- Reconciliation of accounts
- Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files
- Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc.
- Prepare bank deposits
- Investigate and resolve customer queries
- Process adjustments
- Organizing a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
- Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or personally
- Responsibilities may be specialized in one or several of the listed responsibilities.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related field is preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years Accounts Receivable experience is required
- Experience using accounting software such as but not limited to Great Plains, Tops, Oracle, PeopleSoft. Yardi property management software experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of office administration and procedures
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
- Heavy data entry experience is a plus
- Proficient with MS Office Suite programs; specifically, Outlook, Excel, Word
