This is a position responsible for two tasks that is scheduled Monday to Friday between the Preschools operational hours 6am -6:30pm and has a starting pay of $14 -15 per hour. The position is onsite at our center located: 209 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando, FL 32809

The Preschool Cook oversees operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning, preparation, food distribution to rooms, record keeping, and all kitchen operations; ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.
The Preschool Bus Driver responsible for safely operating the school bus; the driver must pick up and drop off students per the schedule; must ensure that the bus is always in good operating condition; must maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.

What You’ll Do in Both Roles:
• Prepares nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children and staff. members; prepares substitute items for children with allergies.
• Distributes food to the classroom; picking up all food items and supplies from the classroom when lunch is over.
• Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage
• Plans for all food and necessary supplies needed to provide food service; makes supply list on Monday for all food and supply items needed throughout the week.
• Removes from the freezer any food item that needs to be defrosted for use the following day.
• Ensures that all food is not outdated or expired and goes through cabinets, freezer and refrigerator to throw away any outdated or expired food.
• Maintains verification of food and non-food purchases to meet Child Care Food Program requirements; putting all items away in a timely manner and disposing of the boxes to the dumpster.
• Keeps a daily meal production record following the Child Care Food Program guide.
• Ensures kitchen area is well maintained and cleaned. Reports maintenance needs for major appliances to the Director.
• When taking food to the classrooms interact with the children in a way that conveys love and acceptance, and when responding to them speak to them using a positive tone of voice.
• Maintains the kitchen and supplies in working order. Discards chipped or broken utensils, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ensures food is properly labeled and dated if placed in the refrigerator or closet after opening.
• Maintains cleanliness of all kitchen appliances, such as the microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, freezers, sinks, and push carts.
• Ensures all eating and cooking utensils are clean and properly stored after use.
• Ensures food proportions and type of food served are appropriate to all ages of children.
• Clears drains of food particles and rinses out the sink each time the dishes are done.
• Sweeps and mops the floor daily to get all food particles up.
• Must be able to lift, push or carry up to 40-50lbs.
• Able to stand for more than 2 or 3 hours.
• Must be able to use both hands consistently every day.
• Drives school bus/van for the purpose of transporting regular education and/or special education students over scheduled routes and to/from school and/or field trips in a safe and timely manner.
• Oversees the loading and unloading of students, releasing students to authorized individuals.
assuring that safety belts are fastened.
• Ensures that children are aware of the rules of the bus.
• Fuels assigned vehicle for the purpose of maintaining vehicle in a safe operating condition.
• Inspects assigned vehicle, both interior and exterior (ex. cleaning floors/mirrors/windows/seats, etc.)
for the purpose of ensuring safety, appearance, and sanitation of vehicle.
• Maintains order and proper discipline of passengers, resolving disputes, documents, and reports
severe disciplinary cases.
• Performs first aid necessary for the purpose of meeting the immediate health care needs of
passengers.
• Maintains current required license and certificates.
• Notifies director of any delays in scheduled routes, or if there are children missing from the school
prior to leaving the location.
• Advises director of any requirements for maintenance and repair of the bus/van.

What We Need from You:
•    High School Diploma and/or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study
•   FL 45 DCF hours required with CDA (Child Development Associate) preferred

•    Minimum of 1 -2 years of professional early childhood education or experience
•    Must clear a full level II DCF background check
•    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
•    Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
•    Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns
