Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with a premier Dental office in the DC area that is looking for a Dental Lab Technician to add to their growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate and who is a true artisan in this craft.

A Dental Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the dental industry by crafting and constructing dental prosthetics such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic appliances. They are responsible for following dentist-prescribed treatment plans and using their technical expertise to create accurate and functional dental restorations. Dental Lab Technicians work closely with dentists, dental assistants, and patients to ensure the highest quality of dental care.

What we are offering

-Mon-Friday Day shift with Fridays being half day

-Competitive salary starting between $130,000-$140,000/yr.

-Yearly raises after performance review

Dental Lab Technician Responsibilities

  1. Read and interpret dental prescriptions and treatment plans provided by dentists.
  2. Fabricate dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic appliances, using a variety of materials such as ceramics, metals, and acrylics.
  3. Utilize dental impressions and scans to create accurate dental restorations that fit seamlessly with the patient's natural teeth.
  4. Follow strict quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, fit, and durability of dental prosthetics.
  5. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure that the prosthetics meet the patient's aesthetic and functional requirements.
  6. Use technical equipment and tools such as CAD/CAM systems, dental lathes, waxing equipment, and casting machines to fabricate dental restorations.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized lab environment to ensure the safety and efficiency of the dental lab.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology and materials, and implement new techniques and processes as required.
  9. Communicate effectively with dental professionals and patients to address any concerns or modifications needed for dental restorations.
  10. Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and ensure a sterile working environment.

Dental Lab Technician Required Skills

  1. Strong technical skills in dental lab techniques and procedures.
  2. Proficiency in working with materials such as ceramics, metals, and acrylics.
  3. Attention to detail and meticulousness in creating precise dental restorations.
  4. Ability to read and interpret dental prescriptions and treatment plans accurately.
  5. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for delicate and intricate work.
  6. Knowledge of dental anatomy, occlusion, and oral health concepts.
  7. Familiarity with dental lab equipment and tools, including CAD/CAM systems.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and address issues in the fabrication process.
  9. Effective communication skills to collaborate with dental professionals and patients.
  10. Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also being a team player.

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent education.
  2. Completion of a Dental Lab Technician program or equivalent training.
  3. Certification as a Dental Lab Technician is preferred but not always required.
  4. Previous experience in a dental lab or dental practice is a must.
  5. Knowledge of dental lab regulations, infection control measures, and safety protocols.
  6. Familiarity with dental software and technology used in dental labs.
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques, materials, and technologies in the dental industry.
