Overview:
Building Electronic Controls, Inc. (BEC), a leading name in fire alarm systems in California, is expanding its operations to the Sacramento area. We are seeking skilled and certified technicians to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to grow in a thriving company committed to excellence and innovation in the field of low voltage electrical contracting. This position will be responsible for working at various California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation locations in the greater-Sacramento Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and program low voltage systems including fire alarms, nurse calls, access controls, security, and CCTV in commercial buildings.
- Perform annual fire alarm testing and complete required NFPA paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, other contractors, and clients to deliver superior service.
- Obtain and manage building permits and adhere to local codes and regulations.
- Troubleshoot, commission, and ensure smooth functioning of all systems.
- Maintain detailed records and report project status to management.
- Uphold BEC's standards of quality and safety on all projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid California State Fire Life Safety Certification or equivalent.
- NICET certification (Level 1-4) is a plus.
- Clean background check and driving record.
- Membership or willingness to join IBEW Local 340.
- Proficient in MS Office and related software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in various physical conditions and lift up to 75lbs.
Compensation:
- Pay scale of $36.60 to $45.75 per hour, based upon experience and credentials.
- Competitive Union Pay Scale based on certification and experience.
- BEC to aide employee in joining union local.
