Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Echo Technician to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing echocardiograms and possess a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform echocardiograms (transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms) according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
2. Prepare patients for echocardiography procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions or concerns.
3. Obtain patient medical history and assess for contraindications to echocardiography procedures.
4. Set up and calibrate echocardiography equipment to ensure optimal imaging quality.
5. Perform ultrasound scans of the heart and associated structures, obtaining accurate measurements and recordings of cardiac function and anatomy.
6. Assist physicians in interpreting echocardiography findings and communicating results to the healthcare team.
7. Recognize and respond to technical issues or abnormalities during echocardiography procedures, troubleshooting equipment and adjusting settings as needed.
8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of echocardiography procedures, including patient information, imaging findings, and any relevant clinical data.
9. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
10. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and support the overall functioning of the cardiology department.

Qualifications:

1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related field.
2. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required.
3. Minimum of two years of experience as an Echo Technician, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
4. Proficiency in performing transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
5. Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
6. Excellent technical skills, with the ability to operate and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment effectively.
7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
10. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
