Tanker Truck Driver - Class A CDL

- Full-Time
A tanker driver will operate and drive a semi-truck and trailer safely and professionally to transport product to customers. We are now recruiting qualified candidates for a tanker driver. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Trip plan to ensure DOT break and hours of service are followed.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspection checks on equipment
- Notify manager of any issues found
- Driver also adds fuel, oil, and water to the equipment as needed.
- Verify that placards, seals and tags match delivery BOL
- Verify that all lids and valves are tight and closed.
- Verifies that customer legibly signs bills for all goods.
- Verify tanker is empty after delivery and determine wash out or not
- Maintains driving and fuel purchase logs according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains periodic telephone contact with supervisor.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Monitors and stays alert to changing road conditions.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Transport hazardous materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must have a (CDL) Class A Endorsement, Hazmat/Tanker on driver's license.
- Must have or have the ability to get TWIC card
- Must have 2 years' experience driving semi-trucks and trailers on the road.
- Demonstrated skill in operating semi-trucks and trailers.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Must be able speak and understand English well.
- Have good communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to read and identify sequences of numbers.
- Must be able to multitask and work in a production environment.
- Safety conscious behavior

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent, and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS:
Class A Commercial Driver's License, with Tanker and Hazard Materials Endorsements
Current TWIC card or ability to obtain
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Sunday afternoon through Friday evening
Multiple nights out at times
Some weekends as needed
