Fitter/Welder
Houston, TX 77041
Temp to perm
Pay rate $28-$32/hr
6:00am-4:30pm Monday to Friday ( With potential to work 20 hours overtime)
A prominent Oil and Gas company is urgently seeking a Welder Fitter. The ideal candidate will excel in fitting metal components to exact specifications, including those fabricated, cast, and forged, crucial for assembling structural forms and components. Responsibilities
- Force components into the final position, using crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
- Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of components using a cutting torch.
- Cut steel components to make alterations using a cutting torch.
- May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch and tools.
- Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install piping and piping systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of fitting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Solid understanding of fabrication drawing (will be tested)
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow diagrams, schematics, and drawings
- Need to have welding PPE and basic tools (Welding hood, welding gloves, wire brush, needle nose pliers, and grinder)
Technical Ccompentenies:
- May be certified to operate both JIB and Overhead cranes.
- May be certified to operate Class IV Forklifts (Hyster 50 - 170).
- Able to read company schematics/blueprints/diagrams/drawings.
- Wears a fall protection harness when working at heights
