Design Drafter

Summary:

The Design Drafter creates designs and blueprints along with a team of other engineers and drafters using software and making modifications as needed to various projects that MPI/CCS may be engaged in.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Creates and designs blueprints for Ag and light commercial projects and/or
2. Ensure building systems are functional, reliable, and safe and identify problems if any
3. Participate in site visits
4. Consulting with clients on building projects as needed
5. Testing and evaluating building systems
6. All other duties assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED and/or Technical College

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or relevant field of study preferred

Experience:

0-1 years of experience in drafting, engineering, or relevant field in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer skills
• Strong working knowledge of CAD or engineering software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
• Work independently with little direction
• Work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to establish good working relationship with many individuals

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to characteristic construction site danger if on job site
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift or move 20 pounds
