The Science Playground Coordinator develops, delivers, and refines all educational programs in the Discovery Lab and Science Playground with an emphasis on STEAM process skills and family learning amongst children birth to six years old.

This role implements a schedule of programs and rotating activities for the Discovery Lab and flexible spaces in Science Playground. They ensure the daily functioning and maintenance of both Science Playground exhibits and rotating activities in Discovery Lab through close collaboration with various departments.

The Coordinator trains and mentors the Engagement team staff on programs and operations associated with Science Playground. In addition, the Coordinator selects, trains, and supervises volunteers to be active participants in Science Playground. This role will be supported by the Museum Engagement Leadership team who share a common goal of ensuring a successful operation within the designated spaces.

Position is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:

• 2 weeks of vacation per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 200 hours.
• 2 weeks of sick time per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 520 hours.
