Job Description

Position Overview: CBH is seeking a System Engineer to support, managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our infrastructure environment consisting of servers, storage solutions, backups, enterprise software and virtualized infrastructure within our datacenter, cloud deployments and remote office locations. The Systems Engineer troubleshoots a wide array of complex system issues to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data while meeting industry best practices. The Systems Engineer also accepts ownership for various projects and implements initiative and assists in the design and planning of infrastructure projects, while providing tier three support to our employees and customer. This person will work with our internal teams, vendors, and consultant in reviewing our existing infrastructure environment and analyzing the effectiveness and adequacy of system, making recommendation for upgrades, replacement, and maintenance.

  • Assist in assuring both internal and external program integrity by being alert to and reporting suspected instances of provider and employee fraud, waste or abuse

Essential Functions:

  • Design, plan, implement and maintain the server infrastructure technology stack.
  • Coordinate technical reviews with vendors and engineering staff in performing system modeling, capacity planning, system performance, manageability, and scalability.
  • Performs infrastructure environments upgrades, system refreshes and operating systems.
  • Lead, respond, and mitigate system security vulnerabilities
  • Lead, test and deploy Windows Updates and remediation efforts.
  • Maintain and standardize firmware deployments for all infrastructure hardware.
  • Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure entire environment is monitored and is reporting correctly on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring backups to ensure backup run correctly on a nightly basis.
  • Ensures servers workstation data integrity and security by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex system problems.
  • Incorporates new system plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develops system architecture and design documentation
  • Designs and performs integration of new technologies into infrastructure
  • Create and maintain standard build documentation and processes.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, metrics, procedures, and training plans for improvement of systems and appropriate use.
  • Perform technology assessment and selection of products and services.
  • Manages the development of project plans for the implementation of new services.
  • Coordinates and maintains service contracts on all equipment, maintenance agreements and SLA disputes.
  • Develop configuration and implementation instructions for routine deployments and daily tasks.
  • Develop, maintain, test, and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity
  • Develop and assess migration plan to cloud environments.
  • Provide Tier 3 support (expert problem remediation) for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise. Analyze and troubleshoot systems outages and/or degradation of service.
  • Self-motivated, willing to work in a 24/7 environment without close supervision.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure experience
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of system, network and datacenter operations
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware, implementing in an enterprise virtualized environment, multi-site, and over 200 VM’s.
  • Must have at least one of the following certifications (VCP-DCV, VCA-DCV, MCSE, MCSA, etc.)
  • Hands-on implementation of VMware 7.x (Host and vCenter)
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of VM Networking and Distributed Virtual Switch
  • Significant P2V & V2V migration experience
  • Storage Virtualization & Replication Experience
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of backup strategies and disaster recovery (on-premise preferred)
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of VMware, Horizon, Windows Server, and Active Directory
  • Build and update VDI images for VMware Horizon environment
  • Scripting experience Visual Basic and PowerShell
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, Voice, and Wireless
  • Must be able to articulate ITIL best practices
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to technical staff and management concisely
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Position requires regular on-call and weekend rotations

Philadelphia Residency Requirement:

  • The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become a resident within six months of hire.
