Wastewater and Outside Maintenance- Temporary

Job Summary:

The Wastewater Application and Outside Maintenance position implements the instructions provided by the Outside Maintenance and Feed Mill Manager. This position supervises preventative and routine maintenance of buildings and equipment in the Feed Mill, manure barns and wastewater treatment system. This is an on-call position that requires the ability to respond to calls outside of regular work hours and may require extended hours without advanced notice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overall maintenance of land application from onsite lagoons, including ensuring pivots are up and running, motors are primed, and irrigated water flow is monitored and controlled.
• Ensures all motors, pumps, and pivots, as well as air filters and blowers, and other related equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
• Controls to ensure discharge meets regulatory requirements, including maximum outflow taking into consideration weather events, and taking necessary meter readings
• Responsible for all outside maintenance at the Rembrandt site, including Pump House, Water Treatment mechanics
• Ensures proper maintenance and repair of the Rembrandt site, including, without limitation, completion of snow removal and lawn care
• Answers and fields alarm calls regarding the wells, water tower, and wastewater system
• Primary on call for issues related to the Pullet Site
• Responsible for overall care of the mill and manure barn equipment
• Inspects and maintains all equipment of the Feed Mill and Manure Barns, including feed bins and scales, as well as all on site vehicle and motorized equipment
• Control of manure belts outside of layer barns and leading to manure barns, ensuring traceable manure placement and advising layer barns on manure issues by barn,
• Helps establish and maintain a structured preventative outside maintenance schedule
• Grind daily mortality
• Responsible for overall daily manure operations
• Responsible for generator upkeep and operation
• Keep the shop area clean
• Operate and controls spray machines, outside fogging and mite machine
• Completes inventory of sprays and pesticides
• Loads and unloads trucks utilizing a tractor or payloader
• Supports other maintenance work through the site as needed

Required:
• Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere, and equipment
• Mechanical, electrical, metal working and plumbing knowledge
• Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
• Hand/Eye/Foot Coordination
• Independent Self Starter/Team Player
• Attention to detail
• Moderate English: speaking, writing and reading for safety purposes
• Mathematical skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions

• Ability to climb and work up to 30 feet on equipment

Equipment:
• Hard hat, helmet, hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator mask, harness (fall protection)
• Ability to operate tractor, grounds-keeping equipment, payloader, skid loader, telehandler, and trucks safely
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely
• Large push broom, kitchen pull broom, squeegee, floor mop, high-pressure wand, air hoses
