POSITION SUMMARY

The Paint III will have the ability to do all work in the paint department including all tasks and duties of Paint I and Paint II. In addition to the positions below, this position will also complete warranty, rework, and spot repairs. The Paint III will work with warranty and address corrosion damage by performing any paint department activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Performed at the expected level as an incumbent of the Paint I and Paint II positions for a minimum of 30 days each and can function as any of the three positions inside the paint department.
  2. Completes warranty, rework, and spot repairs for damaged or imperfect trucks.
  3. Inspects and fixes every truck that goes through paint by either sanding, buffing, or painting.
  4. Repairs accidents or corrosion damages on trucks after distribution within warranty expiration.
  5. Completes tasks in each position within the department.
  6. Applies the base and clear coats to the apparatus.
  7. Sands out imperfections before paint application.
  8. Tapes, masks, and applies plastic cover to body and cab openings before coating.
  9. Utilizes power tools, sander, and blow gun efficiently to complete tasks.
  10. Maintenance on paint equipment and oversee bake booth.
  11. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

  • Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air buffer/sander, air blower, and paint gun.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
  • Associates degree in autobody preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in autobody required.
  • 5+ years in autobody preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to identify quality issues and recognize changes within the production process and make adjustments.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
