Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and expertise in various accounting practices to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Duties:

• Utilize ShelbyNext system (our church management software) to prepare and document financial transactions.

• Ensure financial records are accurate.

• Ensure timely vendor payments.

• Have good business communications and interpersonal skills.

• Process payables and check request as required.

• Payroll processing and documentation.

• Print and verify checks.

• Prepare monthly financial statements.

• Prepare yearly contribution statements.

• Prepare quarterly and yearly tax forms.

• Print checks as required by pastor, treasurer, or auxiliary leader.

• Close out year end

• Prepare federal forms; W-2’s, 1099’s, and 941’s.

• Prepare financial documents requested Pastor or Treasurer.

• Answer telephone lines, as necessary.

• Auditing and reconciling accounts.

• Meet with consultants as needed.

Experience:
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial report interpretation and analysis.
