Sheet Metal Journeyman **HIRING IMMEDIATELEY**

TP Mechanical Contractors , one of the leading mechanical contractors in the Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio region specializing in commercial and industrial plumbing, piping, HVAC and fire protection, is seeking Sheet Metal Journeyman for our Dayton, Ohio division.

A Sheet Metal Journeyman is responsible for daily work at sites of TP Mechanical Contractors. Work includes all types of sheet metal. Individual should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including our sub-contractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities for this position also include:

• Coordinate, install and/or repair sheet metal and/or duct systems.
• Assists with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment as necessary.
• Install hangars or supports for system.
• Perform field fabrication of sheet metal and/or duct systems and set up the specific task or project schedule. Make adjustments to work sequences to meet construction schedules.
• Manage materials to ensure timely completion of the work scheduled. Ensure optimal material consumption.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification.
• Reads blueprints and interprets specifications.
• Keeps equipment in good working order and insures proper and timely maintenance is performed on equipment.
• Ensure the needs of general contractors, owners, and other customers as well as entrusted employees are met.
• Serve as a coach by monitoring and mentoring Apprentices and laborers with production and quality workmanship.
• Strengthen skills to encourage improvement in other sheet metal workers. Emphasize commitment to continually improve company procedures and processes in the best interests of the company.
• Follows all OSHA and TPMC standards for safety. Keeps work area clear of unnecessary clutter and performs routine clean-up as needed.
• Offloading deliveries and loading trucks at job sites.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 1 year experience of sheet metal/HVAC field operations.
• Prior shop experience a plus.
• Stable work history.

Job Skills:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of general sheet metal and HVAC installation
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools
• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity
• Able to do basic take-offs.
• Able to install equipment.
• Basic math skills

Education:

• High School diploma, or GED Equivalent
• Journeyman License a plus.
• Trade School a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50
• Able to work long hours on feet.
• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements:

• Valid Drivers License
• Must provide their own basic hand tools.
• Able to operate heavy machinery.
• OSHA 10 certified.
