Position: Cashier
General Description:
Individual will be responsible for cashing out patrons food orders. This position reports to the Convention Center’s Food and Beverage Controller.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Works as scheduled; Monday- Friday 6:30 Am to 2:30 PM or as City Hall Café is open.
2. Responsible for wearing clean shirts (provided by JAFRRCC); khaki slacks with nametag at all times; employee’s launder their own uniforms. No open toe shoes permitted.
3. Count cash drawer and safe on daily basis, discrepancies reported to F&B Controller.
4. Work with City Hall employee’s in maintaining clean work environment.
5. Responsible for ordering food from JAFRRCC in timely fashion.
6. Responsible for ordering all beverages, paper products, etc.
7. Responsible for rotating stock and inventory; stocking product as needed.
8. Ensures small coffee breaks orders are done in timely fashion. (10 to 15 ppl)
9. Purchase breads or other specialty items at grocery store. Note on timecard for payment for time worked.
10. Maintain a clean work environment. Report any issues to F&B Controller.
11. All other duties as designated by management.
Other Responsibilities:
1. To punch in for shift and be prepared in a properly cleaned and pressed uniform on time per schedule.
2. Must punch in and out at your scheduled time including meal breaks.
3. No excessive jewelry will be tolerated.
4. Individual is responsible for calling their supervisor at least two hours prior to their scheduled shift if they are sick. In addition they must be prepared to produce a Doctor's notification for illness.

Requirements:Qualifications:
1. Minimum high school education or equivalent preferred. Individual should possess reading, writing, and math skills.
2. Individual with at least one (1) year experience in a restaurant/kitchen environment including ability to read and follow standardized recipes, and good working knowledge of hot food preparation. Individual must be able to demonstrate use of knives, all mechanical kitchen equipment, and a basic knowledge of food sanitation standards.
3. Position requires individual to work irregular work hours including day, evening, holidays, and weekends.
4. Position requires individual stand throughout entire shift; and to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, lift, carry, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, walk, push, pull, and grasp. In addition requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently. This includes carrying items up flights of stairs, and service corridor ramps.
5. Individual should possess communication skills, especially when interacting with co-workers, and teamwork skills.
